Refractory Tundish Monoblock Stoper In CCM | Monoblock Stoper In CCM

A monoblock stopper in a tundish is a type of stopper used in Continuous Casting Machines (CCMs) to regulate the flow of molten metal from the tundish into the mold. The monoblock stopper is a ceramic or graphite component that is positioned at the bottom of the tundish and controls the flow of molten metal through the use of a sliding gate.
Unlike a movable stopper, which can be adjusted to regulate the flow of molten metal, a monoblock stopper is a fixed component that cannot be adjusted once it is installed. The design of the monoblock stopper is based on the specific casting requirements for the product being produced, and it is usually manufactured to precise specifications to ensure consistent performance.
The sliding gate of the monoblock stopper is designed to control the flow of molten metal by opening or closing the flow channel. The gate is operated by a hydraulic system that is controlled by the caster operator. When the gate is closed, it stops the flow of molten metal, and when it is opened, it allows the metal to flow into the mold.

Monoblock stoppers are commonly used in steel production and other metal casting processes, and they are favored for their simplicity and reliability. However, because they cannot be adjusted, they may not be suitable for some casting applications where more precise control over the flow of molten metal is required.
